1962 - London (Sloane Square)
Originally founded in Sloane Square the company provided seasonal floral window displays for retail stores in London, as can be seen in the photo to the right.
1980's - Northamptonshire
In the early 1980's Sloane relocated to Northamptonshire, originally to Wellingborough and then to Earls Barton in 1984.
In 1989 Sloane were one of the first companies to move onto then new Park Farm Industrial Estate (Wellingborough) where we moved to a purpose built new building. (2-20 Booth Drive, Wellingborough).
1990's - Sales & Acquisitions
In 1991 Sloane was sold to Lionheart and then merged with Norank Murrell (a metalwork company).
Sloane then went on to purchase several companies increasing in size considerably. Pricedale was then acquired in 1995, Epsom was acquired in 1996, Beanstalk in 1997 and DDS in 1998.
2000's - Marmon
In 2001 Sloane was purchased by the Marmon Group - A US owned conglomerate of companies. Marmon went on to purchase Eden a year later and combined the businesses to create a major European retail fixtures and shelving supplier.
Adopting Marmon's 80/20 business ethics changed Sloane and Eden, developing a world class business with the skills and expertise to thrive in a competitive market place.
2010's - Consolidation
During the 2010's Marmon purchased DCI Artform (Lougborough) and during this period Sloane worked closely with Artform, trying to help them transition to the Marmon 80/20 business philosphy.
Ultimately this became a difficult period and in 2019 Marmon decided to sell Sloane via a management buyout. (DCI Artform UK closed the following year).
2024
Today's Sloane may no longer deal in window flower arrangements, but we do have the eye for detail to continue a successful business manufacturing retail displays and other joinery based items for a wide range of customers from our factory in Wellingborough.
