MDF or Medium Density Fibreboard is a man-made wood. It is manufactured by pressing wood fibres from natural woods together at extremely high temperatures to create a wooden board that is free from natural defects.
It has a smooth sanded finish and is very versatile, with a wide range of internal uses, from furniture production to wall panelling. Standard MDF is only suitable for dry areas, and is therefore not suitable for outdoor use.
MDF comes in a varity of different thicknesses, we have listed the most common below, but if you require an alternative thickness please contact us via email or telephone.
MDF can be painted, though for a superior finish we would recomend using a Moisture Resistant MDF rather than the Standard MDF. MDF can also have an edge applied to it, please see our Cut and Edge service for details if this is something you require.
